Open Text Announces Release 16 Enhancement Pack

OpenText announced its Release 16 Enhancement Pack (EP1) this week, expanding its Enterprise Information Management platform with features that allow for more comprehensive digital workflow among users. The platform also has expanded vertical and business solutions for the government, healthcare, and engineering verticals.

The new release features a simpler and more responsive interface and role-based views that allow for personalized user experiences. A key aspect of the new release is the clear asset-related storage feature, which reduces confusion for users and makes for seamless retrieval and sharing of information assets. Document-centric workflows for more engaging and active collaboration among users even while simplifying business process automation are among improved features as well.

"Today, enterprise software has to be as engaging and easy to use as consumer applications to help drive adoption, increase productivity, and unlock the value of our information," says Adam Howatson, chief marketing officer at OpenText. "OpenText Release 16 delivers on that promise with a common user interface that is role-based, responsive, and based on industry standards like HTML5 to deliver an engaging experience on any device."

OpenText connects reporting and insights within the key states of the customer journey in an integrated solution that allows users to continually refine and adapt the content that has proven to work best for each channel and customer group.

"OpenText Release 16 EP1 represents a significant milestone from OpenText, bringing together our industry-leading EIM platform with the recently acquired technologies form HP and Recommind," Howatson says.

The release is the next generation digital content presentation and interaction tool within OpenText Discovery Suite, optimizing digital warehousing, sharing and interactivity of Big Content such as documents, spreadsheets, email, and more. The Discovery Suite applies analytics to enterprise content by leveraging unstructured data analytics, machine learning, and interactive visualizations as cloud-based solutions.

OpenText Release 16, OpenText Experience Suite features a single application in each of the key customer experience areas including OpenText TeamSite, for web content management, and customer communications management with OpenText Exstream, enhanced with the full real-time transactional capabilities of Communications Center.

Digital asset management is achieved with OpenText Media Management with customer care and support with OpenText Qfiniti and OpenText Explore. Customers can extend the Experience Suite Platform with OpenText MediaBin, OpenText Web Experience Management, OpenText Optimost, and OpenText, all of which aid marketers across business verticals understand the lifecycle of customer interactions from first contact through to renewal and retention.

The strategic backbone of the OpenText portfolio, OpenText Release 16 EP1 captures and orchestrates information governance across complex business processes for organizations in the public and private sector, from engineering and science-based industries, to the legal, manufacturing, utility, and media and entertainment sectors.

A key aspect of the OpenText Extended ECM platform is its ability to allow deeper systemwide integration among other information silos and productivity platforms through a responsive user interface that ties together disparate key business platforms, such as Salesforce.com and SAP SuccessFactors Employee Content Management.
