The Best Customer Journey Orchestration Solution: The 2026 CRM Industry Leader Awards
The Market
Custom Market Insights expects the global customer journey orchestration (CJO) market to grow at a compound annual rate of 24.5 through 2034, when it will reach $88.5 billion. It valued the market at $13.1 billion in 2025, up from $12.4 billion the year before.
Industry analysts attribute the expected growth to companies striving toward personalized, context-aware, and seamless customer interactions across multiple touchpoints. Real-time decisioning; omnichannel interaction; artificial intelligence-based analytics; and integrations with customer data platforms, larger CRM systems, and AI engines are all making CJO platforms central to modern CX strategies.
Looking ahead, expect CJO platforms to provide more advanced segmentation and predictive insights, next-best-action decisioning, and campaign performance optimization.
The Top Five
Adobe’s roots in customer journey orchestration don’t run as deep as the other companies in the market, but that works to its advantage in some respects. Adobe Journey Optimizer “is still pretty young, which is more to Adobe’s credit because it is still leading what you would think are more mature products and is one of Adobe’s best new products of the last few years,” says Paul Greenberg, managing principal of the 56 Group. Beyond that, though, Adobe’s tools “are robust and scale really well. They can track individual customers as well as hundreds of thousands of them,” he adds, noting that Adobe is “adding agentic capabilities to stay at the leading edge of customer journey orchestration.”
Xponent is CSG’s customer engagement and journey orchestration platform; it maps automated, rule-based, and AI-assisted workflows across channels, identifies customer friction points and simulates the impact of changes, integrates with many leading CRM, billing, and care systems to deliver real-time, personalized omnichannel communications, and evaluates live signals to trigger, adapt, or suppress messages dynamically. Those technologies together make it “the strongest pure-play solution in mapping, decisioning, and orchestration,” says Derek Top, a vice president and research director at Opus Research.
For many analysts, Genesys’ customer journey orchestration, an AI-powered capability on the Genesys Cloud CX platform, could be considered the gold standard in customer journey orchestration. Rebecca Wettemann, founder and CEO of Valoir, observes that Genesys “has been a leader in customer journey orchestration from both a tech and thought leadership perspective for some time.” Top, meanwhile, calls it “the reference point for service journey orchestration, fusing journey management with real-time execution…improving compliance, effort, and cost to serve simultaneously.” The product is among the industry’s most robust, coordinating, personalizing, and tracking user actions in real time across websites, bots, and contact centers to guide each customer along the best support path. It features real-time data integration, predictive AI, journey analytics, and adaptive workflows that shift customers dynamically between automated self-
service and human assistance as their context changes.
Medallia’s status as a company was in doubt for some time; it was acquired by investment firm Thoma Bravo in 2021, but then it languished after the same firm acquired Verint and Calabrio. This past June, however, Thoma Bravo relinquished ownership of the company. Now revitalized, Medallia is continuing to strengthen its position in the customer journey orchestration market. The main selling point of its Medallia Experience Orchestration solution, according to Top, is its “cross-departmental signal-to-action, which connects contact center conversational data to enterprise-wide root causes, reaching stakeholders far beyond contact center operations.”
Qualtrics built its XM Journey Orchestration product on a foundation of technologies it acquired from UserMind and Clarabridge, and with them “what they have done especially well…is the ability to identify behavior and sentiment at any beginning, end, and transition point of a customer journey, which is a differentiator,” Greenberg says. Top adds that Qualtrics offers “best-in-class journey analytics and experience insight at enterprise scale, pairing its understanding of the journey with partners for execution.” Qualtrics’ roots in customer feedback also put it in a unique position in the CJO market, enabling it to pair direct customer feedback with real-time operational data to trigger personalized actions across multiple channels. This helps businesses fix broken experiences and guide user behavior instantly.
