Transactions: Customer Wins for August 17, 2004

PeopleSoft recently closed the largest single client contract in its history, sealing a deal for more than $50 million with the Tax Administration Service (SAT) of Mexico, the country's national taxation authority. PeopleSoft's CRM functionality played a key role in SAT's selection, as the agency plans to use CRM and revenue optimization technology to improve its collection rate and efficiency. The project will put all taxpayer info in a single system operating across more than five dozen agency collection centers, paying returns in both reduced tax avoidance and improved organizational efficiency. "It's the largest deal in our history at one of the most significant times in our history," says George Ahn, PeopleSoft's CRM general manager.

NetSuite has secured the Oakland Athletics baseball team as one of its newest clients. One of the first sports franchises to use on-demand software for corporate sales, the A's will use NetSuite to automate its sales, marketing, and major account order management operations. The team plans to use NetSuite to handle all season ticket sales, group ticket sales, and sponsorship sales in a single system; target promotions to fans based on customer purchase history; and work seamlessly with Major League Baseball and tickets.com.

Siebel Systems announced that IntelliChem, a provider of intelligent electronic lab notebooks, has selected Siebel CRM OnDemand to help determine product development and sales resources allocations. In addition, IntelliChem will use the solution to coordinate global sales team activities, and to assist the development of its channel partnerships, contracting with channel partners that sell IntelliChem solutions to customers around the world. Siebel also announced that Fiberdyne Labs, a manufacturer of fiber optic networking products, has deployed Siebel CRM OnDemand to manage sales activities and customer accounts. Fiberdyne Labs is now able to ensure that customer account information, including a history of interactions with each account, is backed up, virus-free, and readily available to executive management and the entire sales organization.

Salesforce.com announced that Enterasys Networks, the Secure Networks Company, is using Salesforce.com Enterprise Edition to manage service support calls and provide visibility into sales opportunities across geographies and departments. "Instead of worrying about CRM," said Michael Rivers, executive vice president of worldwide sales and service for Enterasys Networks, "we can focus on...helping customers to build an entire Secure Network from scratch, or significantly enhance the security of a multivendor network."

SmartTrust, a solutions provider to the mobile industry, has chosen to deploy Amdocs' ClarifyCRM solution across its entire organization.

Firstlogic announced that Avid Technology, a provider of digital nonlinear media creation, management, and distribution solutions, has purchased Firstlogic's IQ8 Integration Studio, for designing, deploying and managing data quality solutions.

Ascential Software announced that Churchill Downs has selected Ascential's data integration solutions as part of an initiative targeted to improve services and offerings to the organization's most profitable customers across its 114 graded-stakes events.

QAS announced the signing of eight top catalog and mail order companies: Hammacher Schlemmer, C. Crane Company, Journey Education Marketing, KellyCo Detectors, Sundance Catalog, The Territory Ahead, Traditions USA, and Wm. K. Walthers. The customers have chosen QAS's QuickAddress solutions to manage their customer address data, and to help eliminate undeliverable mail and shipping surcharges.

StayinFront announced that Endo Pharmaceuticals, a pharmaceutical company in the pain management market, will expand its use of the StayinFront Visual Elk CRM system for its new hospital sales force. Endo will use StayinFront Visual Elk to track key targets, working off the solution's functionality in tracking departments, group calls with multiple attendees, formulary activity, and sales activity.

UCN announced that ADESA, North America's only publicly traded vehicle-auction company, has chosen the company's inContact service solution for a multisite telecommunications system. ADESA will use the inContact system--designed in conjunction with Concierge Communications--primarily for its contact-handling application, which includes a rapid application-development tool and unified reporting tool.

Exact Software announced that The Wasserstrom Company, a supplier of restaurant supplies and equipment for food service organizations, has implemented Exact Software's e-Synergy solution to streamline business processes in the company's call center. The implementation comes largely as a result of Wasserstrom's recent growth from a support staff of four to over 40. E-Synergy will enable associates to access critical customer data from remote locations, and will also act as a large component in Wasserstrom's movement to e-commerce.

ChannelWave announced that nm-select has teamed up with ChannelWave to offer an end-to-end e-commerce solution for its top corporate customers. Online nm-select stores will use ChannelWave for employee purchasing programs, as well as for an outlet store for discontinued and refurbished displays, providing a centralized catalog system to manage over 80 branded employee purchasing stores.

Optima Technologies has been selected by Hager Companies, a provider of architectural products, for automation of the company's management and quoting processes.

UniPress Software announced that the Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology (AERS) Department at Penn State University has selected FootPrints for its IT support operations. The IT center at AERS deployed FootPrints to track and manage all incoming IT support requests from more than 30 staff members, 40 faculty, and 75 graduate students.

Pegasystems announced that RS Medical of Vancouver, WA, has selected its PegaRULES Process Commander smart BPM platform to automate a full suite of front-to-back-office business processes. RS Medical designs, manufactures, and markets electrical stimulators, and will use PegaRULES Process Commander as the foundation for business systems like order fulfillment, invoicing, customer support, inventory management, and product distribution.

ACCO Brands' Kensington Technology Group implemented RightNow Technologies' RightNow Service as its contact center platform, and RightNow Professional Services has integrated RightNow Service with Kensington's mainframe order system. The integration enables Kensington's customer service agents to quickly order replacement parts, eliminating multiple steps previously required to do so.

Enpocket announced that its Enpocket Engine has been selected by Vodafone UK for mobile CRM. Vodafone will use the technology to deliver marketing and CRM communications direct to the mobile phones of its customers.
