The Market

Grand View Research valued the worldwide customer data platforms market at $8.2 billion in 2025 and expects it to grow from $10.4 billion this year to $58.4 billion by 2033 at a compound annual rate of 27.8 percent.

As companies handle massive volumes of customer information from diverse touchpoints, such as social media, IoT sensors, e-commerce, mobile apps, and CRM systems, there is a rising demand for platforms that can collect, consolidate, cleanse, and analyze all of this data in real time. The growing emphasis on delivering hyper-personalized customer experiences is one of the strongest drivers of the global customer data platform industry, as is the need for real-time data analytics and insights for campaign optimization, customer segmentation, and predictive analysis. The market is further driven by advancements in identity resolution, real-time profile management, predictive analytics, consent management, journey orchestration, and cloud-based data activation.

Companies today are increasingly leveraging CDPs to enhance customer segmentation, predictive modeling, and personalized campaigns and to automate customer insights, improve customer retention, enhance loyalty programs, increase conversion rates through targeted engagement strategies, and measure their performance effectively.

The Top Five

As a company, one of Adobe’s hallmarks is its collaboration capabilities, and so it should come as no surprise that the Adobe Real-Time CDP offers some of the most robust data collection and sharing profiles in the market. Built on the Adobe Experience Platform, it combines known and anonymous customer data from online and offline sources into single, live profiles to help marketers segment audiences and deliver real-time personalized experiences across channels. But for Adobe, it’s not only about internal collaboration, as Adobe Real-Time CDP enables brands to connect with other brands to jointly market to and message customers or expand their market to advertise or connect with a new universe of customers in campaigns.

Oracle began as a database company, so it’s no surprise that it would have a strong presence in the customer data platforms market. Its Unity CDP allows users to create a single, dynamic view of each customer in real time. With built-in AI, it brings data together from all sources, applies intelligence, and activates insights to improve the B2B and B2C customer experience across marketing, sales, service, and commerce, and the technology keeps getting better. “Oracle’s investment in Unity and the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) highlight its data-driven approach across the CX and broader application suite,” says Rebecca Wettemann, founder and CEO of Valoir.

Salesforce’s CDP portfolio has gone through several iterations and name changes, having originally launched as Customer 360 Audiences, then evolved into as Salesforce Data Cloud and recently as Data 360. It collects, organizes, and unites real-time customer data from multiple systems into a single profile to power personalized experiences across marketing, sales, service, and commerce, but more importantly, it underpins the entire Salesforce ecosystem, supporting workflows, analytics, and AI agents, as Wettemann notes: “Data Cloud is foundational to Salesforce’s AI positioning and strategy,” she says.

Because data today needs to be available in real time, Tealium’s CDP is worthy of consideration. It collects first-party customer data across web, mobile, offline, and IoT channels; unifies it into persistent, real-time individual profiles; and activates that data across more than 1,300 prebuilt vendor integrations. Not only does it offer a real-time routing engine and real-time data processing, orchestration, audience segmentation, privacy control, and more, but with its Predict ML tool, it can forecast future customer behaviors and scoring as well.

Versatility in cross-channel data management is core to the success of the Twilio/Segment CDP offering. With it, users can collect, clean, and activate customer data from any source, including web, mobile, servers, and custom IoT or in-store streams; enforce quality with schemas; unify customer identity; and then send customer data to hundreds of downstream marketing, analytics, email, customer support, CRM, and data warehouse tools. Inbal Shani, chief product officer at Twilio, once called it “a smart and intuitive control tower for every signal across the customer journey,” and so far most analysts seem to agree.
