Appboy Introduces Campaign Connector
Appboy today introduced Campaign Connector, a feature of the mobile marketing automation platform that bolsters campaign optimization, simplifies workflow, and allows marketers to reach users that they are currently missing.
By automatically sorting users into different messaging sequences based on campaign interactions, Appboy ensures follow-up communications reflect the user's most recent activity. Appboy Campaign Connector also lets users block automatic follow-ups aimed at users who have already carried out the hoped-for action.
This new functionality allows Appboy clients to customize the timing and connections between campaigns.
Use cases for marketers include the following:
- New feature announcements: When promoting a new feature, marketers can create sequential announcements that correspond to specific user actions and automatically activate targeted, relevant campaigns using a mix of push notifications and in-app messages for users who fail to view the initial announcement and for those who have;
- Personalized onboarding: Start a welcome campaign immediately following a user's first app session or after a certain number of days, and select for onboarding messages to conclude once an advanced feature is used or a purchase has been made;
- Purchase incentive: Encourage sale completion by selecting abandoned cart as a Custom Event under Trigger Actions and send the customer a push notification reminder. Depending on whether or not they buy the product, send them a follow-up email with a relevant discount or a thank you email; and
- Tout promotions: Target those who have not yet taken advantage of a campaign offer with a sequence of follow-up messaging for a set number of days later. To account for people who might have already acted on the promotion, marketers can set up an exemption event to exclude those who have already converted.
