Oracle Commerce Undergoes Product Upgrade
Oracle has announced enhancements to the Oracle Commerce solution through a release of Oracle ATG Commerce 10.1 and Oracle Endeca Commerce 3.1.
One of the hallmarks of the release is mobile-optimized and iOS versions of the Oracle Commerce Reference Store, which allows developers to build mobile applications and sites more efficiently.
"Mobile has really served as the catalyst to get retailers thinking about unifying cross-channel efforts and concentrating on delivering consistent customer experiences, as consumers check their phones while in store aisles and use their phones in tandem with Web sites to make purchase decisions," comments John Andrews, vice president of product strategy at Oracle. "Investment in this critical touchpoint has gone up substantially over the last two years."
ATG Web Commerce 10.1 features include the following:
- Visual merchandising: edit content visually from the perspective of the customer;
- Multi-edit functionality: make changes to a large number of items in a single step; and
- Time-based preview: make changes to a particular category and test-view a site before a full roll-out
In addition to the new ATG Web Commerce capabilities, Oracle Endeca Commerce 3.1 includes the latest version of the Endeca Experience Manager, which lets companies build, optimize, and deliver targeted content to customers in different channels.
"Rather than predicting what customers will want and manually building digital experiences, Oracle Endeca Experience Manager allows businesses to automate delivery of an infinite number of targeted, cross-channel experiences, or manually optimize select portions of the experience," Andrews says.
