New Product Spotlight: February 11, 2004

PeopleSoft has launched its PeopleTools 8.44, which uses new features to automate the people-intensive processes required to maintain and operate enterprise software. This latest version includes the PeopleSoft Performance Monitor, to identify key opportunities for performance improvement; PeopleSoft Change Assistant, to automate the selection and installation of software fixes; and PeopleSoft Diagnostics Framework, which uses built-in diagnostics to quickly identify the source of a problem. Surebridge has announced the expansion of its PeopleSoft services to incorporate support of the EnterpriseOne product suite (formerly known as J.D. Edwards 5). The initiative is a reflection of Surebridge's continued focus on application hosting and management, the addition of alternate channels of distribution through strategic alliances, and increased sales from established customers through cross-selling and upselling, according to the company. Also, Surebridge has signed VP Buildings, a provider of steel systems, as its first EnterpriseOne customer.
Cognos has introduced its Enterprise Planning Series Version 7.2. The release is designed to help financial executives improve performance and enable CPM integration across the company by incorporating financial and operational planning processes with business intelligence and scorecards. Integrating with all Cognos products, it offers real time reporting, calculation of and visibility to drivers and metrics across the entire time horizon, and integration with other related management consolidation processes. IMN has made available its content and subscriber reporting and analysis tools in an open e-marketing platform. The standalone module can be plugged into third-party programs and offerings, according to each provider's personal needs. This enables e-marketing service providers, ISP's, CRM firms, Internet marketing agencies, and customers that have their own content management or email systems to offer or use IMN's behavioral analytics as a standard feature of their own services. Maximizer Software has partnered with Vineyardsoft to provide workflow automation tools in upcoming versions of Maximizer's CRM and contact management software. With the assistance of Vineyardsoft's software application Knowledgesync, Maximizer customers will be able to automate responses to business processes within their organizations. This will include the automation of assignment and tracking of sales leads, routing and escalation of customer service cases to an appropriate agent, distribution of company information, and generation and distribution of Crystal Reports. Intuit has announced the addition of new features and enhancements for QuickBase. The most significant new feature is Exact Forms, which allows static MSWord-based forms and other documents to integrate with dynamic data. It can then be shared on the Web in the exact format necessary to comply with industry standards, company policy, or desired visual appeal.
