NICE Systems has completed its acquisition of
Dictaphone's Communications Recording Systems business, a provider of liability and quality management systems for first responders, contact centers, and financial trading floors. The acquisition was an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $38.5 million.
Nortel has released financial results for the first quarter of 2005. Revenue was $2.54 billion, compared to $2.44 billion for the same quarter last year. The company reported a net loss of $49 million, or $0.01 per common share, compared to a net earning of $59 million, or $0.01 per common share, for the same quarter last year. Nortel also announced that it has completed the acquisition of all outstanding shares of common stock of PEC Solutions. The company now owns 96.6 percent of PEC Solution's issued and outstanding shares.
STI Knowledge has changed its name to Integreo. The Atlanta-based BPO provider's decision to rename the company is meant to signify its comprehensive end-to-end BPO services and solutions.
NEW PRODUCTS
JamboTech, a provider of carrier services, has upgraded its BlackPhone suite of communication tools with HyperDial, a click-to-call technology. HyperDial will be available as a feature of BlackPhone 3.0 Desktop Controls, the company's latest release. The new release upgrades the company's reservation conferencing solutions with enhanced desktop controls.
ON THE MOVE
Bigfoot Interactive, a provider of email communications solutions and marketing technology, has appointed
Patricia Newman as human resources director. She will be responsible for recruiting staff as the company grows.
CUSTOMER WINS
Visage Mobile, a provider of technology and services to enable mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), and
Convergys will support
ESPN Mobile, the MVNO from ESPN scheduled to launch in early 2006. MVNO will provide privately branded wireless communications services that use excess capacity on existing wireless networks. Under the agreement Visage Mobile will provide the back-office platform, while Convergys provides the billing services.
WiMAXprovider
ADAPTIX has deployed
RightNow Technologies to automatically initiate personalized online exchanges with customers. ADAPTIX selected RightNow because of its on-demand delivery model, ease of integration with other applications, and foreign language support.
XanGo has selected
TenFold's EnterpriseTenFold MarketForce to build its distributor management system. The initial contract includes software licenses and support, training, and professional services.
The Quebec National Library has deployed
Pivotal to streamline processes and make the library more accessible to customers. The library acquires, by legal deposit, all new documents published in Quebec. It required a means of automating many common administrative processes to reduce costs and focus on delivering services to customers.
