Earnings Roundup: April 29, 2005

RightNow Technologies reported consolidated revenue of $18.3 million for the first quarter of 2005, a 43 percent increase from first-quarter 2004. Net income for Q1'05 was $801,000, or $0.02 per diluted share, compared to a net income of $80,000, or $0.0 per diluted share, for Q1'04. "In what is a traditionally slow quarter for software, customers showed solid demand for our CRM suite," Greg Gianforte, founder and CEO of RightNow, says in a written statement. Convergys has announced its first-quarter financial results of 2005. Total revenues increased 11 percent to $637.3 million, compared to $573.9 million reported in Q1'04. Operating income dropped to $51.9 million, a 5 percent decrease from $54.9 million in the prior year. Net income was $31.2 million, or $0.22 per diluted share compared to, $32.5 million, or $0.22 per diluted share for Q1'04.
ClickSoftware Technologies reported an improvement in total revenues for the first quarter of 2005. Total revenues were $6 million, with a net loss of $639,000, or $0.02 per share. This compares to revenues of $5.0 million and net income of $72,000, or $0.00 per share for the same period last year. Software license revenues for Q1 were $2.6 million, while service revenues were $3.4 million, compared to software license revenues of $2.3 million and service revenues of $2.7 million for the same period last year. Gross profit rang up at $3.9 million for Q105, compared to $3.4 million for Q1'04. Aspect Communications had generated revenues of $90.6 million for Q1'05 compared to $91.5 million for Q1'04. Product revenue increased, with Aspect brining in $30.9 million for Q1'05 compared to $28.1 million for the first quarter for the prior year. Service revenues totaled $59.7 million, compared to $63.4 million for Q1'04. Dendrite's revenues increased 5 percent from first-quarter 2004 to $99.4 million. The company reported a first quarter 2005 GAAP loss of $0.03 per share, compared to a GAAP diluted earnings of $0.13 per share for Q1'04. Dendrite ended the first quarter of 2005 with $53.3 million in cash and cash equivalents and generated approximately $7.3 million in cash from operations.
