Appirio Acquires Infowelders, a Salesforce.com Consultancy

Appirio, a cloud solution provider, has acquired Infowelders, a full-service salesforce.com implementation consultancy specializing in sales cloud, service cloud, and custom cloud development.

This acquisition is expected to supplement Appirio’s core Salesforce CRM and Force.com consulting business. Appirio will also now have more of a presence in the Midwest and will be equipped with additional experience in mobile cloud development. Appirio will also have six packaged solutions available that will become a part of its’s Cloud Asset Library, an expanding library of reusable assets used to accelerate Salesforce implementations. The acquisition is expected to close by the end of this month

“With over 250 customers, including Brown-Forman, DirectBuy, and Kindred Healthcare, in the Midwest region, this bolsters our reputation with enterprise customers specifically in this geographic location,” says Mike O’Brien, vice president of Google Cloud Services at Appirio. “Infowelders also provides a lot more feet on the ground in the region, which customers always appreciate, as it minimizes travel expenses. It's also a win for consultants to have local customers in their backyard."

Infowelders is known for focusing on Salesforce CRM implementation projects at a time when salesforce.com had less than 14,000 customers and the Force.com platform was still in its infancy. Infowelders has since completed more than 700 successful cloud projects . Infowelders has also increased its own service offerings from simple data migration to complex global implementations with significant customization and mobile development.

“Mobile solutions represent an emerging practice in the enterprise cloud space as more and more CIOs look to empower their employees with remote application solutions on a wide variety of devices, including the iPhone, iPad and Android platforms,” O’Brien says.  “One recent example of this type of enterprise mobile adoption comes from our work with RehabCare, where we developed a series of mobile applications that empowered their field physical therapists to do their jobs remotely, in real time, and more accurately. This is a growing trend that we only see accelerating, and Infowelders increases our skills and capabilities in this growing market.”

Brown-Forman, known for brands such as Jack Daniel’s, has been an Infowelders customer for more than a year and recently signed on with Appirio for a company-wide Google Apps and Salesforce Chatter strategy and roll-out. “The Infowelders team did an incredible job getting us started with the cloud, but when you stop asking ‘why cloud?’ and start asking ‘how do I get wall-to-wall cloud?’ you need capabilities for longer-term adoption,” said Jennifer McClinton, manager of information delivery at Brown-Forman, in a statement. “Appirio’s experience in cloud strategy, governance, and its deep expertise across different cloud platforms can bring us to that next level.”

The Infowelders acquisition comes shortly after last month’s TRE3 Group acquisition which brought Appirio even more expertise and a community that can assist customers create high-performance sales operations, sell more collaboratively, and implement successful social CRM strategies. The TRE3 Group is now fully integrated into Appirio and is already taking an active role in helping customers.
