Jive Integrates with Microsoft Office 365

Jive Software, a provider of communication and collaboration solutions for business, today expanded its lineup of software connectors to include Microsoft Office 365, bridging the gap between on-premises and cloud versions of Microsoft's offerings to make collaboration and communication seamless.

Building on the popular integrations already available from Jive for on-premises Microsoft solutions, the Jive Connectors for Office 365, which include Outlook Online, Office Online, and SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business, allow people to use Jive's enterprise communication and collaboration solution to converse in email, coordinate projects across team sites, and create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.

"Businesses throughout the world are using a variety of cloud and on-premises solutions to get work done, yet for many there is no connective thread that ties together infrastructures and systems," said Colleen Jansen, vice president of product marketing at Jive Software, in a statement. "Jive furthers its commitment to deliver one of the only collaboration and communication solutions in the industry that can act as a catalyst for digital transformation by offering a variety of integrations, including the latest for Microsoft Office 365, that give employees the freedom to work across the silos that exist in the enterprise."

The family of Jive Connectors for Office 365 includes the following:

  • Jive Connector for Outlook Online brings relevant Jive content and conversations into Outlook email threads. People can now upload attachments, create and reply to discussions in Jive, and view personal streams within cloud and Windows desktop versions of Outlook. With the integration of Jive's structured outcomes feature, people can also reply in line or mark comments for action to drive business outcomes. The Jive connector will be available for Office 365 Outlook Web Access and Outlook 2010 and 2013 for Windows.
  • Jive Connector for Office Online eliminates the hurdles of working on Office documents, spreadsheets, and presentations regardless of where they are located. People can now coauthor and discuss these files in cloud and Windows desktop versions of Office, no matter where these documents live. With the addition of Jive's popular impact metrics feature, people can also analyze the reach and sentiment of documents in Office 365.
  • Jive Connector for SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business enables people to quickly and easily access and work off of documents stored in either location. The newest integration offering for SharePoint Online/OneDrive for Business syncs news and activity streams between SharePoint and Jive and easily delivers both to mobile devices.

"We're excited to see Jive's vision for adding all of the Office 365 elements to their existing Microsoft integrations," Ted Hopton, director of social business at McGraw-Hill Education, in a statement. "Jive's focus on supporting both the desktop and cloud worlds aligns well with McGraw Hill Education's needs, as does their broader vision for connecting outside the Microsoft suite to our range of vital enterprise systems and apps that our employees count on everyday."

In addition to the new Jive Connectors for Office 365, Jive offers a robust family of connectors to help customers bridge silos that exist within the enterprise, including connectors for Box, Cisco, Dropbox, Evernote, Google, Salesforce, and more.
