Cirrus Insight Now Links Salesforce.com to Office 365

Cirrus Insight, an app for integrating Salesforce.com with Gmail, can now be integrated with Microsoft Office 365.

Now millions of Microsoft Outlook and Salesforce users can save emails directly to the Salesforce.com platform, create new leads and contacts, and update opportunities anywhere and anytime they check email. Additionally, Cirrus Insight is compatible with Microsoft Outlook's mobile application, enabling salespeople to track leads on the go.

"The customer relationship management process is fragmented. While there are services to record and track sales activity, Cirrus Insight is the only app that brings email inboxes—a key form of sales communication—into the mix," said Ryan Huff, CEO and co-founder of Cirruspath, in a statement. "We're thrilled to partner with Microsoft and Salesforce to bring the next generation of sales and support tools to professionals who rely on Outlook and Salesforce to perform their jobs."

With Cirrus Insight for Office 365, users can do the following:

  • See customer context from Salesforce.com inside Outlook;
  • Save email to Salesforce.com;
  • See who opens emails with real-time open notifications;
  • Create new leads, contacts, and accounts;
  • Set task reminders to follow up;
  • Schedule meetings and events;
  • Log calls to Salesforce.com; and
  • Create and update opportunities and cases.

Cirrus Insight currently supports Outlook 2013, Outlook Web Access in any browser, and OWA apps for iPhone, iPad, Android, Microsoft Surface, and Windows phones.

"Cirrus Insight is a great example of how the Microsoft Partner Network benefits our customers," said Jenni Flinders, vice president of U.S. partners at Microsoft, in a statement. "By innovating with the Office 365 platform they're delivering an innovative solution focused on helping people be more productive in the office and on the go."

Since its inception, Cirrus Insight has brought Salesforce.com into salespeople's inboxes. The Boston Globe, Change.org, HootSuite, and Traction on Demand all rely on the Cirrus Insight apps for Gmail and Outlook.

"Since our switch to Office 365, email integration has been at the top of Traction's wish list," said Chris Peacock, vice president of strategic alliances at Traction on Demand, a cloud consulting firm with expertise in Salesforce.com implementations, data quality, and marketing automation, in a statement. "We were thrilled to hear that the leaders in Gmail integration were rolling out a solution for O365 users. Less than five minutes to install and Cirrus Insight for Office 365 was live for all 120 of our users, across all of their devices. Cirrus Insight brings our Salesforce information to the inbox, saving time for our sales, operations, and support teams. In addition, the seamless integration allows the team to maintain, enhance, and enrich our valuable customer and activity data right from their email environment."
