Internet advertising revenues
in the United States surged 42.7 percent in the second quarter, compared with the same period a year ago, to $2.37 billion, according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau. Revenues for the first six months of 2004 jumped to $4.6 billion, a 39.7 percent increase over the first half of 2003. The increase in revenues for the April through June period was six percent higher from the prior quarter.

, a marketing strategy and technology consulting firm, have announced an agreement on a plan for Fair Isaac to acquire Braun. The acquisition terms have been approved by both companies' boards of directors, and the transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter. According to Tom Grudnowski, CEO of Fair Isaac, the addition of Braun will further enhance Fair Isaac's marketing team. The move will also greatly expand its client base.
