SalesLogix Going Mobile

Interact Commerce Corp., a developer of mid-market CRM offering and SalesLogix unveiled a partnership with Vaultus Mobile Technologies Inc. to bring its users a mobile CRM solution for Pocket PC handheld computers. Vaultus Mobile Sales for SalesLogix is a Java-based client/server solution that provides secure mobile access to SalesLogix data from any handheld device running Microsoft Corp.'s Pocket PC operating system. When combined its existing laptop and Web-based offerings, the product lets current SalesLogix customers increase access to their SalesLogix information. The product also enables prospects to access larger data sets than previously enabled via mobile connectivity. The new solution goes beyond traditional looking of contact information and enables mobile users to perform account and opportunity management, as well data gathering while in the field, says Kevin Myers, vice president of SalesLogix strategic account sales. Christopher Fletcher, an analyst with market researcher Aberdeen Group, says that high-bandwidth, functionally rich, mobile enterprise applications are among the most exciting developments in the CRM space. A recent report by Fletcher states that mobile solutions even those with without wireless connections represent a potential value investment for companies. Vaultus and SalesLogix are currently in the pilot phase of their collaboration. The companies have implemented Vaultus Mobile Sales for SalesLogix at Cyberonics, a developer of medical devices. When the pilot is complete, Cyberonics plans to deploy the solution to its entire mobile sales force. "It allows our sales force to access our SalesLogix data on a Pocket PC even when they are not connected to a network," said Robert Cummins, Cyberonics' chairman and chief executive officer. "It enables our sales force to be more productive, ensures that sales information is captured while it is still fresh, and makes the most current sales information available to all members of the sales team, no matter where they are."
