PeopleSoft Integrates Its Product Line

PeopleSoft wants to give users the best of both worlds. Since its acquisition of JD Edwards, the company has been hard at work integrating select functionalities of the two platforms. Today PeopleSoft is announcing the first major series of integrations between the two. In addition, PeopleSoft announced four new Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) solutions for PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne and PeopleSoft World customers. With today's announcements PeopleSoft says it has exceeded its original product-road map goals announced on September 4. Les Wyatt, general manager and vice president, PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne, says the mixing of the two solutions is proving lucrative for PeopleSoft. "With [eight deals in Q3] we're already seeing traction in cross-sell opportunities," he says. The new integration enables PeopleSoft Enterprise (the former PeopleSoft 8) customers to leverage industry-leading solutions from the PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne (the former JD Edwards 5) family, including: Real Estate Management, Asset Lifecycle Management, and Advanced Planning. In addition, Strategic Sourcing, Human Capital Management, and Customer Relationship Management solutions from the PeopleSoft Enterprise family are now integrated with the PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne family. According to Barry Wilderman, senior vice president of technology research services at META Group, says that PeopleSoft is on the right track in merging with companies with complementary features. "We believe that vendors like PeopleSoft are focusing well on the technical merger, which should include business process integration across products, data integration through a central data warehouse, and content integration through portal technology," he says. As part of its EPM announcement, PeopleSoft says it has consolidated customer data from PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne and PeopleSoft World applications onto PeopleSoft's Enterprise Warehouse. As a result, EPM applications built on the Enterprise Warehouse are now available for PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne and PeopleSoft World applications. EPM solutions now available to PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne and PeopleSoft World customers include: Global Consolidations, Manufacturing Scorecard, Supplier Rating System, and Enterprise Scorecard. All prepackaged integrations and the PeopleSoft EPM solutions will be generally available on December 17.
