Yellowfin 7.1 Will Feature Location Intelligence Enhancements

Yellowfin this week will officially release Yellowfin 7.1 with Location Intelligence enhancements that include census-based demographic data.

These datasets, to be known as GeoPacks, will help users discover rich location-based insights and correlations between existing business and spatially relevant third-party data.

"Yellowfin 7.1 will ship with demographic data for key regions, including data such as population, average household income, median age, and unemployment rates, to help customers enhance their location-based analysis," said Yellowfin CEO Glen Rabie in a statement. "Historically, we know that difficulty sourcing, collating, and analyzing relevant location-based information has prevented some clients from getting the most out of Yellowfin's Location Intelligence capabilities. That's a fact we're about to change."

"Yellowfin's GeoPacks will help customers to develop a unified view of their business," Rabie said. "Not only will clients be able to understand the interrelationships between customers, products, infrastructure, and suppliers, they will also be able to ask more complex questions, such as 'How do my sales per region compare when factoring in population density?'"

Following the release, Yellowfin clients will be able to download demographic data packs from the Yellowfin Web site via the all-new Yellowfin Marketplace, an online portal that will host a series of GeoPacks, which will contain location-sensitive information, including map layers, as well as geometry, GIS, and demographic data. Yellowfin's GeoPacks will be extended to include more countries over time.
