Selzy Launches MCP Server
Selzy, providers of an email marketing platform for solopreneurs and small businesses, has launched Selzy MCP, a server that connects artificial intelligence assistants to email marketing tools and account data.
The integration allows business owners to manage key stages of email marketing, from audience segmentation and campaign creation to performance analysis, through conversations with AI assistants such as Claude. By making segmentation and campaign preparation accessible through natural-language requests, Selzy aims to reduce the effort required to create more targeted email communications.
Built on Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that connects AI applications to external systems and data, Selzy MCP provides 56 tools covering campaign preparation, execution and analysis.
The integration supports the following three core workflows:
- Audience segmentation through natural-language requests. Users can describe the audience they want to reach. The assistant can use the available contact data and segmentation tools in Selzy to create saved audience segments, allowing the owner to prepare more targeted follow-up campaigns without configuring each filter manually.
- Campaign preparation and launch through AI assistants. Users can ask an AI assistant to prepare a promotional email based on an existing newsletter or saved template, update its content, and check the campaign before sending. The assistant can run a spam check, count recipients, verify the sender address, and check available sending capacity. Once the campaign is ready, the user can review and confirm the send or schedule it for later.
- Campaign analysis using existing marketing data. Selzy MCP also allows AI assistants to access campaign history and performance metrics. The assistant can compare results using data from the user's Selzy account, helping business owners review past performance and make decisions about future campaigns without manually reviewing individual reports.
Users review campaigns and confirm each send in the chat. Campaigns remain subject to Selzy’s standard moderation and account checks, and scheduled sends can be cancelled before they start. Building automations, uploading files directly, creating forms and landing pages, and setting up A/B tests remain in the Selzy interface.
Rather than replacing the email marketing platform, MCP creates another way to interact with it. Customer data, campaign history and sending tools remain within Selzy, while AI assistants provide a conversational interface for supported tasks. Functions including automation creation, direct file uploads, forms, landing pages and A/B test setup remain available through the Selzy interface.
"Small business owners need customers to come back and buy again, but many handle every newsletter themselves alongside sales, orders, and customer service," said Andrew Dyuzhov, marketing director at Selzy, in a statement. "With Selzy MCP, an owner can ask the assistant to follow up with people who engaged with a recent offer, prepare the email, and check it before sending. We want owners to spend their time deciding which customers to reach and what to offer them, while AI handles the campaign setup. That is how we see email marketing becoming practical for a business with no marketing team."
