Jive Software Names New CEO
Jive Software today announced that Elisa Steele has been named CEO. In addition, Steele has been appointed to the Jive board of directors.
Prior to her promotion to president in November, Steele served as Jive's executive vice president of marketing and products, and previously chief marketing officer. Her background includes more than 20 years of leadership experience in high technology, including executive management roles at Microsoft, Skype, Yahoo, and NetApp.
"I am honored by the confidence expressed by the Jive board of directors and excited about the direction we are taking the company to enable today's modern workstyles. Our mission is clear: We empower brands to create valued relationships with their customers, and we enable people to work better together using simple, smart, beautiful products," Steele said in a statement. "I look forward to working with the leadership team and all the Jivers around the world to execute our plan and deliver sustainable, profitable growth."
"Elisa is one of the most dynamic leaders I've worked with, and she's made an immediate impact as president. Within just a few months, she's fostered a strong leadership team and delivered an innovative product suite," said Jim Goetz, a partner at Sequoia and a Jive board member, in a statement. "We're well positioned to accelerate the business and help more people communicate and collaborate across devices."
"For more than a decade, Jive has been a leader in helping people connect, communicate and collaborate. With Elisa as CEO, I'm confident the company will continue to drive this market forward," said Ted Schlein, general partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and member of Jive's board, in a statement. "Elisa has a clear vision for how people and technology intersect – ultimately this powerful combination is what drives people to work better together and deliver the most value to organizations."
