IBM Launches Digital Experience on Cloud

IBM and Portico Consultancy have revealed new cloud services to help businesses build, test and deploy applications to deliver more engaging customer experiences.

The new IBM Digital Experience on Cloud user experience platform provides companies with a fully managed cloud service for delivering socially aware, omnichannel digital experiences to engage customers, partners, and employees.

New IBM Digital Experience on Cloud coupled with Portico software in the cloud allows marketing, IT, and human resources executives to pilot, configure, and introduce new applications that meet evolving customer needs.

"Our customers are telling us they need more functionality in digital experience software delivered in the cloud today," said Dennis Rot, founder and director of Portico Consultancy, in a statement. "Businesses want configurable software that integrates with existing IT infrastructure and new applications to power their consumer, partner and employee portals without having to worry about installation, configuration and maintenance. They want to change customer applications on the fly, and have it work on any platform, especially mobile."

The new IBM Digital Experience on Cloud is a fully managed cloud service running on IBM SoftLayer. The suite of tools allows users to create, manage, and publish rich content across multiple channels. As customers grow, the IBM Digital Experience on Cloud provides a dedicated environment for content authors to maximize their productivity, and optimizes the content delivery environment for responsiveness to site visitors. Integration and modern development tools and role-based editing capabilities allow users to author and render more targeted, contextual content. This managed private cloud solution provides a dedicated compute, storage and network infrastructure, with capabilities to integrate with systems of record using IBM Digital Data Connector and script portlets. IBM Digital Experience Plus on Cloud extends the rich advantages of Digital Experience on Cloud with enhanced integration capabilities and increased functionality.

Portico and IBM Digital Experience on Cloud software provides customers with a single point of access to all relevant business data from any device and can include social media integration and collaboration, Web analytics, application launcher, department site templates, and self-service management features. Portico and IBM are collaborating to expand a unique SaaS ecosystem where IBM Business Partners and smaller businesses can use the cloud to power their own unique applications on top of a trusted platform. Larger enterprises can use the cloud services to pilot new programs and test proof of concepts on the cloud.

"Either dedicated or shared, IBM has the digital platform in the cloud on IBM SoftLayer for a client's omnichannel needs," said Marie Wieck, general manager of IBM Software, in a statement. "The collaboration with Portico shows how companies can use an agile software environment in the cloud to better serve users, enter new markets, and test-drive new ideas before taking them to customers."
