Worldwide revenues for CRM solution providers hit $8.4 billion in 2006 and are expected to grow to $10.9 billion in 2007, according to Forrester Research's report, "The Forrester Wave: Enterprise CRM Suites, Q1 2007."
BI platform revenue will rise 10 percent in EMEA in 2007 and reach 1.5 billion euros, while BI platform revenue will grow at a CAGR of 9.7 percent, tallying 1.9 billion Euros in 2010, according to Gartner.
A survey by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) of 350 companies with 500 or fewer employees found that 50 percent of those businesses trust the security offered by IP telephony product and solution vendors. This represents a slight improvement from a year ago, when 48 percent of those surveyed said they trusted IP telephony security. IP telephony, however, still lags behind traditional telephony systems (82 percent), Ethernet data networks (72 percent), and wireless local area networks (60 percent) in the security confidence level these businesses have, according to the CompTIA survey.
Thirty-eight percent of consumers in 2006 said that they would never want to receive commercial text messages under any circumstance, compared to 42 percent in 2005, according to Jupiter Research's "Mobile Marketing: The Carrier's Path to the Pot of Gold." Eight percent of consumers in 2006 only wanted to receive opt-in text messages, four percentage points lower than the number of consumers in 2005.
Worldwide security software revenue is expected to total $9.1 billion in 2007, a 10.7 percent increase over the 2006 revenue of $8.2 billion, according to Gartner. Antivirus software revenue is expected to total $4.9 billion in 2007, and will account for 53.8 percent of the total security software industry.
