Mei Lin Fung founded the People Centered Internet chaired by Vint Cerf . She is the founding Unit Coordinator for the California Health Medical Reserve Corps. Mei Lin worked for Shell Australia as an assembler programmer and Operations Research Analyst before earning her MBA at MIT. She worked at Intel first in finance then as alpha test user for Intel’s in-house Distributor Sales, inventory, billings, forecasting system. Next she was on the 2-person skunkworks team that developed OASIS, the earliest CRM system envisaged by Tom Siebel at Oracle. She worked for Marc Benioff at Oracle. Mei Lin served as socio-technical lead for the US Dept. of Defense’s Federal Health Futures initiative where she was the subject matter expert for Networked Improvement Communities inspired by Douglas Engelbart, the inventor of the computer mouse. Mei Lin was an organizer for the 40th anniversary of Engelbart’s “Mother of all Demos” in 2008, called Program for the Future. She also organized the 40th anniversary of the TCP/IP specification that underlies the Internet. She studied Finance at MIT under Franco Modigliani and Robert Merton prior to them separately winning the Nobel prize for Economics. She is a member of the World Economic Forum (WEF)’s Global Future Council on Digital Economy and Society, she is on the WEF core team for Digital Economics and the Steering Committee for Internet for All. Mei Lin serves as vice-chair for Internet Inclusion within the Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Internet Initiative, 3i.
