Moontoast Adds Social Application Suite

Moontoast, a social marketing, commerce, and analytics company, has launched a suite of applications that can be integrated with its Social Analytics Suite to enable brands to better leverage their followings on social media platforms.

"Targeting customers at their point of impression and engaging them to take action are the holy grails of effective marketing ROI, and the future holds more location-specific deals, rewards for referrals, public purchasing, and direct purchases in the newsfeed," maintains Errol Apostolopoulos, vice president of products at Moontoast.

The new applications are:

Sweepstakes: The sweepstakes application can be embedded on a brand's Web site or affiliate sites, distributed across social networks, or used for email newsletter signup forms.

Pin It to Win It: This application lets clients create contests that encourage customers or followers to pin images and their correlated links to their own Pinterest board for a chance to win or redeem rewards.

Voting: This application allows companies to create voting buttons on brand pages that customers can use to respond to a poll. A quiz and polling application can then be used to reward customers for voting.

Email for MP3 or Coupon: These applications let companies give customers a new music single, demo, or coupon in exchange for an email address.

Founded in 2008 with offices in Nashville and Boston, Moontoast was originally a Web service that helped "experts" in various fields earn a profit as instructors. The company changed its focus to social media in 2010 and gained a client roster that includes Procter & Gamble, Time Inc., Simon & Schuster, and Universal Music. The company's applications are designed to work on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube.
