HP teams up with multiple BI providers; Perseus launches an improved EFM solution; AIM appoints new vice president; and more.

IN THE NEWS HP will work separately with Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion, and SAS to develop new solutions, available later this year, using HP OpenView Business Process Insight (BPI) software to add real-time business process visibility to these firms' BI solutions. Under the agreement HP will work with each company to integrate HP BPI within their new solutions to provide real-time business process status and results. SAP AG has agreed to acquire privately held Triversity, a maker of point-of-sale retail software. Financial details were not disclosed. Triversity's technology is expected to provide SAP with products that cover point-of-sale, through the retail supply chain, and to the corporate back office, according to the German software maker. The acquisition is expected to close in October. Avaya has acquired Nimcat Networks, a developer of embedded, peer-to-peer IP communications apps software. Avaya acquired the privately held company for approximately CAD $46 million in cash. Nimcat Networks' IP communications software, currently called nimX, is designed to be embedded within enterprise IP phones. Nortel Networks announced a strategic OEM partnership with Witness Systems to deliver improved capabilities to Nortel's Contact Center solution. The relationship will blend contact center communications technology with contact recording and quality monitoring products from Witness. NEW PRODUCTS Perseus has launched SurveySolutions/EFM 1.4, which includes enhancements to its enterprise Web-survey application. These improvements include expanded reporting capabilities so users can create customized reports, questionnaire design enhancements, and advanced panel management to ensure greater validity of data. In addition, the company improved the product's CRM, HRM, and BI integration capabilities through Web services. Nortel Networks has announced an enhanced portfolio of multimedia communication products branded Expert Anywhere, which provides a end-to-end mobility solution for the distributed contact center. Expert Anywhere Contact Center solution is powered by the Nortel Application Center, a SIP-based integrated suite of applications. The solution makes agents, no matter where they are, more accessible to customers.
ON THE MOVE AIM Technology has appointed Tania Le Voi vice president of product development. She will be responsible for enhancing the company's flagship suite, AIMCall. Jenny Donohue has joined InsightExpress as manger of marketing and communications. Donohue will be responsible for corporate marketing strategy and implementation. CUSTOMER WINS Baring Asset Management has implemented Proposal Software's Management and Production System (PMAPS) Financial 2004, a comprehensive proposal management solution for investment managers. Baring Asset Management (BAM) is a global investment management company that manages $35 billion on behalf of clients around the world.
