PeopleSoft has introduced its Certified Professional Program, a new program that certifies IT staff on PeopleSoft's applications and technologies. Available to both PeopleSoft customers and the general public, the program enables certified individuals to receive recognition in their field and to increase their qualification for IT positions requiring in-depth knowledge of PeopleSoft's applications-and-developer toolset. Certification is offered to participants on PeopleSoft's 8.4 toolset, PeopleTools. Salesforce.com has released its new Office Edition, built on the sforce 2.0 on-demand application server. It features automated delivery of customer and sales information directly into Microsoft Office applications, permitting users to create documents and reports with real-time data. It also allows for customized business productivity tools like automatic proposal generators and custom analytics directly within Excel and Word, as well as integrated access to document protection tools for Microsoft Office 2003 customers.
ePeople has announced its new ePeople Teamwork 5.1, a solution that enables knowledge workers to access information without leaving Microsoft Outlook. The solution is targeted to companies with high value products, services, and customer relationships. It allows employees to search for help from experts, capture knowledge, and work collaboratively with customers and partners for issue resolution. ePeople Teamwork 5.1 also supports other devices and interfaces, including PCs and handheld devices, the Web, any email appliance, and instant messaging. FrontRange Solutions has launched GoldMine 6.5 and GoldMine Corporate Edition 6.5 for distributed and small-to-midsize enterprises. This latest version scales from a single user to entire organizations, offering enhanced existing features like analysis, reporting, and wizards to support users through multistep tasks. The solution also includes the new component Record Type Administration Centre, which enables users to create, manage, and work with unlimited custom business entities. QlikTech has released the QlikView Publisher 2.0, providing integrated domain security and Web-based access for remote end-users. The version allows administrators to automatically reload and publish QlikView applications to a QlikView Server or directly to end-users based on their individual needs and access rights. Publisher 2.0 offers full control of the time and frequency for data reloads and distribution of each application through a scheduling service, ensures data security, and gives end-users a Web-based single access point to QlikView-based applications, according to the company. appStrategy, a provider of .NET-connected software tools, solutions, and utilities for CRM, has developed appRadius, an add-in that allows Microsoft Business Solutions CRM customers to extend the capabilities of Microsoft CRM directly from Microsoft Visual Studio .NET. Available in Professional and Enterprise editions, appRadius connects to external applications and databases like Microsoft SQL Server 2000, Oracle, and IBM DB2. The appRadius Professional edition is scheduled for release within the first quarter of 2004, with the Enterprise edition to follow in the second quarter.
