Although Missouri Baptist lies in the heart of suburban St. Louis, the marketing team devotes considerable time—about 80 hours per month, according to Fagan—to its satellite hospital in Sullivan, Mo. Located about 65 miles outside of St. Louis, the hospital is much smaller, with only 46 staffed beds and 400 employees, but its presence in the small town community is well-known. The following morning at 8:30, the Sullivan hospital’s assistant administrator, Lisa Lochner, is in St. Louis for a monthly meeting with the Missouri Baptist marketing staff. Lochner makes several such trips every year.
“We really provide quality care,” Lochner says. “People don’t have to travel to a large hospital for things like oncology and cardio care.” Lochner collaborates with Fagan’s team on strategies for promoting its new healing garden video marketing campaigns. The small hospital relies on the St. Louis team’s expertise.
Fagan says she is committed to the Missouri Baptist brand, whether it is the flagship hospital in St. Louis or the small satellite in Sullivan.
