Dreamforce 2017: Intelligence Is the Fourth Industrial Revolution

mySalesforce is “the next generation of Salesforce on mobile,” according to the company. It has three key features: the ability to build apps quickly, themes to match any brand, and the Listing Wizard. mySalesforce apps are built with the Salesforce Lightning App Builder, which has a drag-and-drop library of configurable components such as calendars, dashboards, and task managers. mySalesforce apps can adopt the look and feel of a company’s brand in the name of the app, icons, logos, color schemes, splash screens, and app descriptions. The Listing Wizard aims to remove the complexity of publishing a customized mobile app to the Apple and Google stores—it simplifies the process into step-by-step instructions, and tests and configures the app before submitting it for approval.

myIoT is, according to Salesforce, a response to the disconnect between the developers building IoT solutions and the sales, marketing, and service teams using IoT data. myIoT is “the next generation of Salesforce IoT,” and begins with IoT Explorer, a new platform service that aims to empower anyone to use IoT data to “build, iterate, and deploy proactive sales, service, and marketing business processes.”

IoT Explorer has three key features: low-code orchestration, customer context, and proactive engagement. Low-code orchestration refers to IoT Explorer’s low-code interface that enables users to create rules-based automation for any connected device in a point-and-click manner. With regard to customer context, IoT Explorer connects device, sensor, and application data to the Salesforce Platform. Proactive engagement allows companies to sell, service, and market in an integrated way.

“All of this together; this is the smarter, more personalized Salesforce that we’re working on, with your feedback,” Benioff said during his keynote. “Whether it’s in Trailhead or Einstein or Lightning or Salesforce mobile or in IoT, all of this is in this incredible next-generation platform.”

Salesforce also announced the Quip Collaboration Platform, which aims to enable teams to collaborate faster and more interactively in a single, live document. The Quip Collaboration Platform features Live Apps, interactive custom-built applications that can be embedded directly into any Quip document to bring all relevant content into the document.

In addition, Salesforce announced a new strategic partnership with Google. The partnership will deliver new integrations that connect Salesforce with Google Analytics 360 and G Suite.

The integration with Google Analytics 360 makes audiences and campaign data from Analytics 360 available for activation in Marketing Cloud; likewise, sales data from Sales Cloud is available in Analytics 360.

The integration with G Suite enables customer intelligence to be surfaced seamlessly between G Suite and Salesforce Lightning and Quip. It includes Salesforce Lightning for Gmail, which enables users to surface Salesforce CRM data in Gmail as well as customer interactions from Gmail within Salesforce; Salesforce Lightning for Google Sheets, which allows users to embed Sheets within Salesforce; Quip Live Apps for Google Drive and Google Calendar, which enables any list of Drive files, including Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, or a Google Calendar to be embedded inside Quip; and Salesforce for Hangouts Meet, which enables users to surface Salesforce CRM data in the Hangouts Meet interface.
