Salesforce.com Releases New Products With N.Y. Glitz

Saleforce.com has much to celebrate. And it is doing so in fine fashion at its third annual Freedom From Software celebration at Carnegie Hall and the Russian Tea Room in New York City on Friday, where it is formally unveiling three products: Enterprise Edition, Offline Edition and E-business Suite, as well as a partnership with Informatica Corp.

Coming off the heels of a recent year-end financial announcement of 300 percent growth for 2001, the CRM hosting company is expanding its product line to offer solutions for enterprise companies. Enterprise Edition includes advanced CRM functionality and an open enterprise-class infrastructure that provides advanced customization, integration, and administration capabilities.

For $125 a month per user, customers can utilize all the benefits of Professional Edition (available at $65 a month per user), plus advanced customization, integration, and administration capabilities. Some of the advanced features include product revenue tracking, recurring revenue and annuity revenue tracking, and the ability to redirect customer inquiries to an online self-service channel.

"Enterprise Edition includes an entire platform that adds not only to our sales support and marketing components, but also adds an entire Web services foundation so companies can have XML interoperability between our service and either other Web services or legacy systems," says Marc Benioff, president and chief executive officer at Salesforce.com.

Available in the second quarter of 2002, Offline Edition will enable users to view and update customer and prospect information offline, while experiencing the same interface as salesforce.com's online applications.

Salesforce.com also said today that later this year it will release the first online CRM solution with full back-office integration and visibility, which will give enterprises insight into all customer interactions, including orders, invoices, and agreements, and enable every employee to be an informed single point of contact for customers.

The product releases are coupled with Salesforce.com's partnership agreement with Informatica, an analytics company based in Redwood City, Calif. The relationship enables Salesforce.com to provide data integration capabilities with salesforce.com's online CRM solution and legacy applications and databases, which give clients a comprehensive view and analysis of customer-facing interactions across disparate systems.

Headlining the Carnegie Hall event is David Bowie with performances by Philip Glass, Bebel Gilberto, The Kronos Quartet and monks from the Drepung Gomag Monastery.
