ORLANDO, Fla. (PegaWorld 2013) -- When Pegasystems releases PRPC 7 later this summer, the business app will have greater analytics than previous versions.

The app will incorporate business analytics along with predictive and adaptive analytics, Pegasystems CEO and founder Alan Trefler said during a morning keynote today.

The product, he said, is more than two years in the making, capping off a process that began in April 2010, when Pega officially acquired Chordiant Software for $161.5 million.

"We have completed the re-engineering of Chordiant into Pega's products," Trefler said during a press and analyst session.

The new PRPC 7 also provides greater ease of use and speed with a new Designer Studio that can be run in any browser or language.

"It will be increasingly more important to democratize [business software]," Trefler said. "Our goal, through a combination of cases, processes, and analytics, is to put in our customers' hands the power to do what they want. With our model-driven architecture, we empower businesses to take control."

Pegasystems also continues to build up its cloud presence with the Pega Cloud, which works off of Amazone Web Services. "We're very happy with [Pega Cloud]," Trefler said. "We've had very good uptake with our clients willing to do stuff in the cloud."

According to Trefler, Pegasystems is also expanding its cloud presence by allowing clients to run Pega applications and supporting systems in their own private clouds.

"The cloud is exrtremely elastic, which makes it very attractive," he added. "It's also a matter of cost and agility."

Trefler also noted that Pegasystems is working to expand to other markets. While it's core business is in financial services, the company has broken into the telecom and government sectors, and is moving into the mid-market, he pointed out. "The impediment to mass market adoption is not price," Trefler said.
