In an effort to help marketers make better use of its offerings, marketing automation provider Marketo today introduced Marketing Nation, a free network for Marketo customers that features best practice resources, programs, and opportunities to receive one-on-one advice from consultants. The Program Exchange, which is included in Marketing Nation, houses a catalog of templates for customers to refer to for help developing new campaigns or other projects. The topics include lead scoring, email campaigns, lead nurturing, Webinar creation, and search engine marketing. Customers such as the Pedowitz Group and Rackspace are already using Marketing Nation and have downloaded templates from the Program Exchange. While all of the content in the Program Exchange was provided by Marketo, user companies will eventually be able to contribute and share their own programs, according to Marketo.
"With Marketing Nation, we're giving marketers the ability to tap into the success of all the customers who've come before them to dramatically increase their own success," said Marketo CMO Sanjay Dholakia in a statement. "With Program Exchange you're not just purchasing Marketo's marketing automation solution, but tapping into an entire suite of programs to empower your teams to achieve value faster. The Program Exchange draws on the knowledge and experience of more than 21,000 marketing experts worldwide to empower marketers everywhere." In its second quarter report for this year, Marketo announced it had signed its 2,000th customer with a year-over-year growth rate of nearly 200 percent. Although the company has a strong performance rate, its new release comes at a time when the marketing automation space is becoming increasingly competitive. Showing customers how to get more benefits from a product they already have could be one way to discourage them from jumping ship for another vendor.
