GlobalOne Picks Up Weblinc

GlobalOne, a provider of cloud solutions geared toward the enterprise, today announced it has acquired Weblinc, an Australian provider of cloud computing applications.

According to John Orrock, chief operating officer of GlobalOne, the move is "a positive acquisition for us to add to our capabilities in Salesforce.com [Weblinc is a premier consulting partner] in the Asia Pacific region," citing a strong cloud technical architecture that will "ensure the [cloud] ecosystem has quality and education to it."

Paul Mansfield, chief executive officer of Weblinc, noted in a statement that Weblinc's knowledge insights perfectly "complement GlobalOne's business and offer customers a deeper and broader set of cloud services from a single provider."

The Weblinc acquisition is the third acquisition for GlobalOne in recent months. The company snapped up the Vodafone Appland mobility team in December 2011, launching the GlobalOne Mobility Practice. In the fall, GlobalOne acquired telecom solutions provider FLOW thru LOGIC.

GlobalOne's trio of acquisitions color its competitive position in the SaaS, social collaboration, and cloud computing market, with enterprise verticals like financial services, telecommunications, high-tech, media, and services taking center stage.

In late fall, GlobalOne deployed social CRM solutions for asset and wealth management and capital markets.

"If you make a solution from the start and paint that picture for them, the more comfortable they'll be," says Geoff Merrick, senior vice president of GlobalOne, of cloud-based CRM adoption by the financial sector. "It's compliance, first and foremost, asset management, and how social brought it all together."
