Melissa Data Launches BusinessCoder Cloud Service
Melissa Data, a provider of global contact data quality solutions, today launched the BusinessCoder cloud service, enhancing worldwide business data with deep firmographic information on more than 25 million business records.
BusinessCoder incorporates multisourced business data with more than 25 categories of returned information. Data managers now have a full-featured data quality tool to drive more informed business-to-business strategies, enhancing business information to improve analytics, generate leads, and boost marketing efforts based on knowing customers and prospects better.
"Data managers struggle with gaps in business data, a common byproduct of working with different datasets and vendors as well as global business contacts," said Bud Walker, vice president enterprise sales and strategy at Melissa Data, in a statement. "Multisourced data makes all the difference. It is essential to optimize business-to-business communications, analytics, and marketing worldwide and sets us apart from traditional services such as Hoover's or Dun and Bradstreet. These other services, for example, typically exclude small business information from their data, while Melissa Data's coverage is more diverse and complete."
With or without a company name, data managers can provide an address, stock ticker, Web address, phone, or Melissa Address Key (MAK) as input. BusinessCoder returns information, such as company names, phone numbers, geo-location and census info, SIC codes, number of employees, total estimated sales volume, and more. All data is properly standardized and formatted.
BusinessCoder's initial capabilities include U.S. business address data, and will be followed by data from Canada, the United Kingdom, and other European countries. BusinessCoder is a cloud-based API consumed by clients in a lightweight manner via common programming languages.
