LivePerson Acquires Synchronite to Offer Co-Browsing

LivePerson, a provider of live digital engagement solutions, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire German startup Synchronite, a provider of co-browsing technology. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Synchronite's collaborative solution works with complex Web applications across all modern browsers on all devices and even allows for offsite co-browsing, while promising speed, security, and scalability.

LivePerson's live digital engagement technology integrates patented predictive targeting technology that helps brands understand their site visitors' intent and value, enabling them to meaningfully connect through engagement tools including chat, voice, personalized messaging, and video chat, across all channels and devices. It also offers LP Insights, a text analytics solution that pulls chat transcript data and data from email, social media, call transcripts, the Web, and more.

By adding Synchronite's co-browsing solution to the LiveEngage platform, LivePerson customers will be able to provide real-time collaborative assistance to help consumers complete tasks, such as filling out forms, resolving technical issues, completing purchases, and navigating Web sites.

"Our vision at LivePerson is to transform digital commerce by enabling brands to provide rich and innovative customer experiences. We're very excited to integrate Synchronite's exceptional co-browsing technology to LivePerson's platform to enable businesses to seamlessly offer high-touch engagement options to guide valuable customers through their online journey," said Robert LoCascio, CEO and founder of LivePerson, in a statement. "We welcome Synchronite's strong team of developers to LivePerson as we continue to focus on delivering more value to our customers by broadening and strengthening the live digital engagement capabilities of our platform."

"Brands today have the opportunity to deliver an online experience that matches or even surpasses the in-store experience, ensuring greater customer loyalty. By integrating our co-browsing technology with LivePerson's platform, we can help businesses worldwide engage consumers in a rich, meaningful way, helping them complete their online journey and making them feel valued," said Christian Thum, co-founder of Synchronite, in a statement.

"It has always been our mission to bring co-browsing capabilities to large enterprises, meet their highest requirements, and help them leverage the potential of real-time customer interaction," added Stefan Seedorf, co-founder of Synchronite, in a statement. "Being part of the LivePerson family makes this possible on a global scale for businesses of all sizes."
