CampusVue 8 delivers administration and CRM for colleges on the ground and on the Internet; one analyst is impressed by the many options.

Students are customers of their universities in the final analysis, and Campus Management is enabling schools to better serve their needs with CampusVue 8.0, the latest version of its software suite for higher education. Available today, CampusVue 8 is part of Campus Management's standard maintenance program and carries no additional cost.
According to Tim Gilbert, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Campus Management, the company started serving Title IV college degree programs and vocational schools nearly 20 years ago, and today is in use by 80 percent of the largest online and career schools, including 80 percent of the top 25. It's also used in numerous university college campuses, the brick and mortar stores of education.
The application has been around for eight years. "In 1999 we released CampusVue, and schools were already thinking of how to serve nontraditional students," Gilbert says. "Today we're on over 1,100 campuses worldwide, from Dublin, Ohio to Dubai." The company releases several updates a year to address changes in regulations, accreditation, and financial aid packages.
CampusVue 8 includes a number of new features, spanning all facets of school administration. Everything from financial aid to pass/fail grading is covered. A degree audit module lets users see the impact of changes to majors, minors, and concentrations before speaking to an advisor. Expanded mail functions help schools personalize communications to current and prospective students. CampusVue centralizes the collections process for fees and tuition, and includes support for promissory notes.
There is also support for course management software as well as other applications, accessible via single sign-on through a university's branded CampusPortal. The system is secure, limiting the printing and exporting of student, applicant, and faculty personal data like social security numbers.
Analysts approve of what Campus Management is doing for higher education. "I am impressed with Campus Management's integrated approach to student life cycle management, particularly in CampusVue 8," says Vicki Tambellini, CEO of industry analyst firm Synergy3. "Using CRM functionality, they are offering higher education many options to enhance service and communications to students."
