Any CRM initiative is only as good as the people involved, and PeopleSoft is aiming to help companies hire the right people for the job with its new Recruitment Solutions 8.9. "It's really all about visibility," says Jason Averbook, director of global product marketing for PeopleSoft HCM. "Just as companies use CRM to gain visibility through the sales pipeline, HR managers need visibility into the lines of potential new candidates." Averbook says the product utilizes PeopleSoft's CRM technology to track potential job candidates the same way CRM tracks customers. "Candidates are constantly calling in to HR departments and sending references," he says. "Companies need to have one central place to store all information about a candidate so they can call up all those records and have a complete view of a potential hire at a glance." This 360-degree view of the candidate can help companies better recruit the best possible people for the job. "It is a proven fact that companies that put their best face forward when recruiting are able to win over the best candidates," Averbook says. According to Averbook, technology lifted from the company's CRM suite can help make this happen. Features like live chat options and analytics software can help companies better understand the labor pool from which they plan to draw, Averbook explains. PeopleSoft says that some customers that tested the solution saw significant results. The Borgata Hotel, Casino, and Spa in Atlantic City screened 60,000 candidates and hired 5,000 associates in fewer than six months, the company says. Averbook also says the new solution will leverage PeopleSoft's AppConnect, HRMS Warehouse, and Workforce Analytics technologies, helping the product to provide a unified view of the costs and key efficiency metrics associated with acquiring and maintaining mission-critical workforce skills. This will enable performance and cost-based comparisons of full-time versus contract employees, among other benefits, according to Averbook.
