CUSTOMER WINS America Online and
DoubleClick will partner to develop an ad serving, inventory management, and workflow tool and delivery operation to AOL Media Networks. The partnership with DoubleClick will provide advertisers across all America Online brands with enhanced ad serving technologies, according to the company, to facilitate the development and execution of more complex ad campaigns and promotions. First Mutual Bank will deploy FaxCore 4370 to send marketing faxes related to interest rates, loan payments, mortgage brokers, and home improvement contractors. FaxCore will automate the delivery of approximately 1,200 faxes to current customers and prospects. Telesur, a telecommunications service provider in Suriname, has selected Nortel to expand and upgrade its nationwide wireless networks by deploying an end-to-end global system for mobile communications (GSM) and general packet radio service (GPRS) solution that includes radio base stations and mobile switching equipment. The expansion will enable Telesur to improve coverage and offer services like high-speed mobile Web browsing, personal messaging, and multimedia applications. IN THE NEWS Seven Networks, a provider of corporate cell phone messaging services, is expanding into Europe by purchasing Finland-based Smartner Information Systems. Seven is looking for growth overseas due to RIM's BlackBerry domination of the U.S. market for mobile office email services, according to the company. ON THE MOVE ChoiceStream, a provider of personalization solutions for online consumer services, has appointed David McFarlane as executive vice president of sales, marketing, and client services. Previously, McFarlane was COO of ImLogic, a provider of instant messaging infrastructure applications. NEW PRODUCTS SAS has begun shipping a newly enhanced version of SAS Enterprise BI Server, a component of the SAS 9 Intelligence Platform, to users worldwide. The new version upgrades the BI Server to include OLAP and query reporting tools, according to the company. SAS Enterprise BI Server is designed to enable enterprises to consolidate IT departments. Onyx Software has released Onyx Analytics, a BI and reporting solution, and a part of Onyx Performance Management Portfolio. Onyx Analytics includes a range of prepackaged audience reports for sales, marketing, and services to accelerate management decision-making. Marqui has released the latest version of its software-as-a-service (SaaS). Marqui's SaaS is designed to help businesses control branded content and communications output. The new version includes email analytics, improved publishing speed, a user-friendly interface and full integration with Microsoft Active Directory. OpTier has debuted CoreFirst, a solution designed to ensure performance for IT business services. CoreFirst automatically prevents problems in real time and provides transaction visibility into multitier workloads in production. CoreFirst also aligns IT performance with business objectives.
