CTT Portugal adopts edocs software for its online service platform; Onyx and WebSideStory announce preliminary quarterly results; FrontRange signs a Tivoli business partner; and more.

IN THE NEWS WebSideStory has preannounced its financial results for the fiscal quarter ending December 31, 2004, indicating higher-than-expected revenues. Total revenue is expected to be between $6.4 and $6.5 million, representing more than 40 percent growth from the same period one year ago, and a 14 percent gain over the previous quarter. The company credits strong increases in both online commerce and online advertising for its income gains. The firm projects revenue of just under $7 million for the quarter in progress. Onyx issued a statement with a preview of its 2004 fourth-quarter financial results. The company booked $6.5 million in license revenues during the quarter, its best performance since 2002. Overall quarterly revenue will total roughly $14.5 million. Onyx says it has increased its cash holdings by some $4 million during the quarter, and that it has incurred between $15.4 and $15.9 million in total costs and expenses, including a $1 million charge connected to recent management changes. FrontRange Solutions announced that it has added Orb Data of the United Kingdom to its reseller program. Orb Data intends to work on pairing FrontRange's IT Service Management system and the Tivoli enterprise management suite from IBM. Orb Data, also an IBM business partner, currently offers security, enterprise management, and e-business infrastructure services and consulting. NEW PRODUCTS WebSideStory is launching what it calls the first digital marketing university, an education center aimed at online marketing specialists looking to share ideas and hone their craft. Courses conducted by marketing experts and industry peers will be offered first to WebSideStory customers, and will expand to the general marketing community at a later date. Initially, seminars will be offered at user events beginning with WebSideStory's ActiveInsights customer conference in April, and at the firm's San Diego headquarters. Plans to offer distance learning in late 2005 are already in progress. CUSTOMER WINS Edocs announced that CTT Portugal, Portugal's postal authority, will use edocs products as part of an "lectronic mailbox service. The edocs software platform will be used to manage online invoicing and bill payment as part of a transition to support more online commerce and electronic messaging. CTT Portugal expects to integrate the edocs-based billing and mail viewing capabilities with its existing ERP and invoicing solutions.
Impromptu Gourmet Catalog, a unit of Schwan's Home Service, has selected LaGarde's StoreFront to run its e-commerce operations. The nine-year-old Impromtu Gourmet, which specializes in high-end gift meals with home delivery, recently reoriented its online strategy, and says it chose StoreFront based on its flexibility and integration into the brand's other marketing efforts.
