Mindtree Releases Decision Moments
The platform aims to help customer-facing professionals mine data for stronger business insights.

Mindtree, a digital transformation and technology services company, has launched Decision Moments, a data analytics platform that applies learning algorithms to large data sets with the goal of giving businesses insights they can use to improve their customer relationships over time.

According to a statement from Radha R., executive vice president and head of digital business at Mindtree, the platform acts with speed and agility, giving businesses an edge on competitors as they leveage the patterns and trends revealed by their data:

"Continuous learning is at the heart of Decision Moments, allowing companies to make agile, evidence-based decisions in areas like customer churn and retention, market mix modeling, campaign effectiveness, fraud detection, supply chain optimization, and more."

Powered by Microsoft Azure's services, Decision Moments aims to help companies use customer information siphoned from a variety of sources to solve industry-specific business problems relating to product personalization and recommendations, as well as other sales, service, and marketing operations. The platform also takes into account any preexisting analytics solutions a firm might have invested in, with the intention of reducing the complexity involved in deriving relevant, contextual inferences from them.

On the platform, business users are allowed access to self-service functions that enable them to manage data "while audits for incoming data are automated," explained Amit Ak, head of Big Data solutions at Mindtree, in a blog post. A set of dashboards provides users with governance over the data lake "while the platform ensures infinite data fan-in and fan-out for efficient storage and linear scalability of data producers and consumers," he added.

The solution is equipped with more than 20 industry-specific machine learning algorithms, which aim to give businesses access to diagnostics, as well as predictive and prescriptive analytics across various functions.

According to Ak's blog post, the apps allow for customer acquisition through "look-alike modeling techniques." He noted that deep learning capabilities—including image recognition and text mining—can help firms automate their customer service operations by, for example, powering conversation bots that assist customers.

Decision Moments also includes 25 apps designed to meet the needs of different industries, including travel, retail, consumer goods, banking, and insurance, as they include prepopulated data sets.

Central to Mindtree's release is its relationship with Microsoft. Decision Moments is built as a cloud-first offering on Microsoft Azure's services, which includes the Cortana Intelligence Suite. The vendor's specialization in Big Data, cloud computing, and machine learning informs the platform's ability to surface intelligence to users.

Victor Morales, a vice president of the enterprise partners team at Microsoft, commented on the release in a statement:

"Mindtree's Decision Moments, powered by Azure, allows businesses to become nimbler in capitalizing on opportunities that business data offers. With Cortana Intelligence Suite as an integral foundation for Decision Moments, companies will gain advanced analytics capabilities that help them transform their data into intelligent action, and reach their full potential in becoming digital businesses."
