Gigya Launches Registration-as-a-Service

Gigya, a provider of customer identity management solutions, today unveiled Registration-as-a-Service (RaaS), which will enable companies to authenticate consumers with consistent cross-device customer experiences while maintaining security.

Gigya's Registration-as-a-Service (RaaS) provides a flexible set of REST APIs that support the integration of end-to-end user registration systems across Web properties, mobile applications, and connected devices, complete with identity validation, progressive profiling, and responsive design.

Some of RaaS's capabilities include the following:

  • Risk-Based Authentication (RBA): By taking into account a combination of IP address and device-based information, companies can implement additional layers of identity validation when certain anomalies occur. For example, if a user typically logs in to a business' digital property from New York and suddenly attempts to sign in from China, an additional authentication factor can be triggered within RaaS.
  • Passwordless Mobile Authentication: When logging in to a company's digital property, users can now enter their mobile phone numbers so one-time verification codes will be sent via SMS to their devices. Once users enter the codes, they will be authenticated and logged in, free from having to create and remember another username and password combination.
  • Cross-Channel, Cross-Device Interface: The responsive design is optimized for touch, and an upgraded UI builder enables companies to edit registration screens using a drag-and-drop interface.

Gigya also announced today new professional services offerings aimed at helping enterprises achieve value and compliance more quickly. Called GigyaWorks, the services and consulting program aims to ensure that clients' implementations meet business objectives.

"Great customer experience has become the new market requirement for growing acquisition rates and expanding relationships, with customer identity and access management (CIAM) technologies at the core," said Troy Abraham, Gigya's senior vice president of global services, in a statement. "With the ultimate goal of enabling our clients to exceed their end-users' expectations, the GigyaWorks program has been created to help global enterprises capture, manage and leverage customer data while educating them around key market trends and processes every step of the way."
