Cirrus Insight Launches Cirrus Insight for Outlook

Cirrus Insight yesterday launched Cirrus Insight for Outllok, an application that links Microsoft's Outlook email application to Salesforce.com.

Cirrus Insight for Outlook offers email and link tracking so users can see when recipients open an email, where they are located, how many times they open the message, and if they click a link. They can also save email to Salesforce.com, attach email to any standard or custom object in Salesforce.com, enter information into any standard or custom field when saving the email, and mail merge a Salesforce.com template into Outlook to send personalized email with Salesforce.com merge fields.

Cirrus Insight for Outlook is fully integrated with Salesforce.com, with built-in support for record types, custom fields, validation rules, dependent picklists, and other Salesforce customizations.

Other features include the following:

  • Calendar Sync: Cirrus Insight syncs events and invitees between Office 365 and Salesforce so that events go to the Activities related list on leads and contacts in Salesforce.
  • Support for IMAP and Virtual Desktop Environments: Customers who use Outlook with IMAP can use Cirrus Insight. The application also supports terminal servers, Citrix servers, and click-to-run.
  • Analytics: Cirrus Insight tracks KPIs like which email performs best and how many meetings the sales team is having with prospects each week.

Cirrus Insight for Outlook supports Outlook 2010, 2013, 2016, Office 365, and mobile.

According to Cirrus Insight, the Outlook integration follows requests from Microsoft Outlook users. The company notes that 75 percent of companies use Outlook for email.

Four years ago Cirrus Insight launched a similar integration with Google's Gmail.
