Badgeville, a provider of gamification solutions, has launched Badgeville for Communities, its next-generation solution to add game, reputation, and social mechanics to leading community and collaboration products. The new Badgeville for Communities product will integrate with the popular enterprise social network and collaboration products, including Yammer, Jive, Lithium, Telligent, and SharePoint.

Badgeville for Communities can be used to encourage employees and customers to contribute to online communities and improve the quality of conversations and interactions. Badgeville allows businesses to discern and reward desired behavior patterns to significantly boost engagement.

By adding Badgeville for Communities to existing popular social collaboration platforms, businesses can create momentum in online communities that are struggling by rewarding quality content and meaningful collaboration.

Booz Allen Hamilton, a provider of management and technology consulting services, is implementing the new Badgeville for Communities product as a key component of its Digital Workforce initiative.

"An increasingly diverse and mobilized workforce presents immense challenges for organizations trying to engage their employees in a meaningful way," said Walton Smith, principal at Booz Allen, in a statement. "We are implementing Badgeville on top of our Yammer community to not only drive engagement and participation, but to also supply a lens into the individual specialties in our workforce."

The next-generation Badgeville for Communities platform features the following:

  • Extensive Platform Support: Compatible with the popular corporate collaboration platforms Jive, Lithium, Telligent, Yammer, and SharePoint;
  • Portable Reputation Across Multiple Communities: Ability to combine customer and employee communities with portable reputations and transfer existing profile reputations to new communities; and
  • Out-of-the-Box Setup: Simple configuration for community use cases including Social Enterprise, Conversation Starter, Forum Expert and Content Creator.

Badgeville President and CEO Jon Shalowitz said there has been a groundswell of customer interest in driving engagement and reputational awareness in online community investments. "Badgeville for Communities is an all-encompassing solution that allows businesses to identify and reward the reputational value of individual community members," he said in a statement. "This is a key area of technical investment for us. We are thrilled to be working with the leading community/collaboration solution vendors to drive more success for their customers."
