I2's Jaguar Has A Need for Speed

Supply chain management developer I2 Technologies Inc. is readying the next version of its application code named "Jaguar".

Due out in the September/October time frame, the product will be version 6 of its application offering more mature order management and pricing functionality, according to James Mitchell, director of product marketing at I2. Since the beginning of the year, the company has been steadily proving its worth to customers and signed two big wins: Carlyle Compressor division of Carrier Corp. and e-business solution provider to the airline catering industry, eLSG.SkyChefs, he says.

"Jaguar will help bridge the gap between sales chain and supply chain," says Mitchell.

To date, I2, founded by Sanjiv Sidhu and Ken Sharma in 1988, has garnered more than 1,000 customers and helped deploy 10,000 installations worldwide. Sidhu and Sharma founded the company with the belief that supply chain management could eliminate inefficiencies in business. Fourteen years and 10,000 implementations later, the $1 billion company has signed on major brand names, such as Dell, Acer, and Toshiba.

In 2000 alone, the company added 60 Fortune 2000 companies including Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard, Home Depot, Nokia, and Qwest Communications with support from consulting companies such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Accenture, and Inforte.
