Laura Zink Marx is currently the Executive Director of the NJ 2-1-1 Partnership which is the state organization for 2-1-1 and the primary 24/7 call center answering over 20,000 calls per month and providing information for hundreds of thousands of web site requests. Laura has seven years’ experience as a state director and has served for three years as chair of the 2-1-1 US Steering Committee. She began with 2-1-1 as the first Director of Operations when 2-1-1 began the journey to roll out a statewide 2-1-1 system and was instrumental in setting the infrastructure that took the organization through its beginning years. In 2010, the NJ 2-1-1 Partnership started providing 2-1-1 service for the 5 county Philadelphia area. Laura has built strong working relationships with the Office of Homeland Security and the Office of Emergency Management and the Department of Human Services is a key partner. Laura has recently taken on the additional responsibilities as the United Ways of NJ Executive Director. 2-1-1 is central to the United Way mission in NJ and coordinating public policy and outreach initiatives for both organizations is a key strategy moving forward. Laura brings with her 25 years of experience in various non-profit resource development and strategic planning capacities as a staff member and consultant. In addition, she worked for American Cancer Society, United Way of Southeastern Pa, United Way Worldwide and other non-profits developing training curriculum in volunteer recruitment, development and recognition, and delivered resource development training programs throughout the country.
