Call For Speakers

CRM magazine's Marketing Technology Boot Camp is focused on the practical application of marketing skills, technology, and concrete concepts that marketers need to master in 2017. It will cater to marketing practitioners who want to gain skills or sharpen their existing skills.

Co-located with the Gilbane Digital Content Conference, the Marketing Technology Boot Camp will offer sessions to enhance practical skill sets for modern marketers and offer a wide range of digital marketing topics.

If you wish to submit an idea for a presentation, please focus your session with a concrete take-a-way that attendees can use immediately upon their return to the office. Presentations will be segmented in 30 minute, 45 minute and one-hour increments. Generally, we avoid panel discussions. These broad topics are just intended to give you practical examples of what types of presentations we are looking for but we aren’t limited to these suggestions.

Conference Speaker Guidelines

All of our events are educational events. Our conference content is carefully designed to ensure that attendees feel they have received maximum value from the experience and would recommend us to a colleague. 

How To Submit A Proposal

  • Review the conference description and topics for our next event, November 28-30, 2017, at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel.
  • Use our proposal submission form to submit a proposal that is relevant to the topics described.
  • Please include a 100 word abstract, a concise 10 word take-a-way of exactly what the attendee will learn, a speaker bio and speaker contact information.  
  • We do not accept sales pitches or marketing presentations. PR firms should only forward proposals submitted by the actual presenter. If you will be coordinating a speaker’s participation, provide all your contact information in the form. 
  • This call for speakers is aimed at experienced marketing practitioners and does not include vendors of marketing technology. Vendors who want to participate in this conference can sponsor and deliver 30 minute educational session content. 

You will be contacted if your proposal is accepted, is being considered, or has been rejected by August 20th.

Speaker Benefits

The biggest benefit in presenting at our conferences is the opportunity to interact with the most influential community of content management, digital marketing, and technology experts in the industry. Plus, you get to share your experiences and network with your peers. Because of the high quality of our speakers, we promote our speakers and their backgrounds on our website and social media. Speakers receive a complimentary full conference pass. Speakers may also request a free conference session pass for a colleague.

We do not provide speaker honorariums or reimburse for expenses.

Speaker Requirements

As a speaker we ask that you:

  • Provide a professional quality presentation that is on the agreed upon topic.
  • Stick to the time allocated for your presentation.
  • Make sure you fill out your speaker page with social networks, head shot, contact information.
  • Promote your session with a discount code through your social networks, blog, or other means.
  • Provide your presentation to us in electronic form for distribution to the conference attendees before the conference begins.

Guidelines

Most presentations will be 30 or 45 minutes in length, although some may be a full hour. Make sure your slides are readable. In general, nothing below 18pt type is going to be able to be read by anyone not in the first few rows. 24pt and up is usually safe.

Speaker Substitutions

Speaker substitutions are generally not allowed. Our speakers are chosen for their knowledge and communication capabilities, not because of who they work for. If for some reason you need to cancel, please let us know ASAP, and provide replacement recommendations in case we do not already have a speaker on the waiting list for that particular topic.

Vendor Speakers

The majority of our speakers in the general program are not vendors.  We do have sponsored solution sessions if a vendor wishes to contribute to this event, but even these sessions should be educational in nature and avoid being a sales pitch. We’ve used this format very successfully in other conferences and found that most vendor sessions are highly rated if they focus on real world solutions to problems. Many vendors have brought actual clients and present in a case study format.

Deadlines

It is always a good idea to submit proposals well in advance of the deadline. We will still accept proposals after that date just in case any relevant openings become available.

We always receive many more excellent proposals than we can fit into our program. Please do not be discouraged if you are not selected. We organize multiple events, and may be able to fit your presentation into another conference.
