Dr. Jeff Tanner
Dean, Strome College of Business, Old Dominion University
Dr. Tanner is Dean, Old Dominion’s Strome College of Management in Norfolk, Virginia, where he is also an active consultant and executive educator. Author or co-author of 15 books, his latest, Analytics & Dynamic Customer Strategy: Big Profits from Big Data (Wiley) was released last summer. Dr. Tanner has taught executives and graduate students in a dozen countries, including India, France, Malawi, Australia, and Colombia. Consulting clients include Cabela’s, EMC, Lockhart, and Gallery Furniture, among others. He is a frequent guest on such shows as NPR's Business Extra, SAP's Game Changers Radio and Teradata's Beye Network. His award-winning research has been published in over 70 journal articles and presented at over 200 conferences. In addition to research awards, he was the Society for Marketing Advances Distinguished Teacher (2013). Jeff and his wife, Karen, also breed and race Thoroughbred race horses.
