Social media management system HootSuite has added enterprise social collaboration platform Socialcast to its app directory, further adding to the buzz around social collaboration being a top IT trend for 2013. The enterprise social networking space is ripe, with solutions like Microsoft's Yammer, Sprinklr, Jive Software, Tibbr, and Salesforce.com Chatter all, in one way or another, maintaining a stake in internal social collaboration. Through HootSuite's new integration with VMware-owned Socialcast, a business user can bring conversations from public social networks like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+ into a company's private enterprise community. From the HootSuite dashboard, he can use Socialcast to monitor and publish updates in the activity stream, view and add attachments, create polls, and send private messages. The enterprise community has seemingly become a catalyst of late for collaborative handling of customer support issues, with the launch of Salesforce.com's Communities for Service and Partners—the crux of that being peer and agent-assisted communities. With this new integration, a support agent using the Socialcast app for HootSuite could share a customer Tweet with an internal support group to come up with the best action or response.
HootSuite integrates with a number of enterprise applications like Yammer, Nimble, MailChimp, Zendesk, and Get Satisfaction, along with a plethora of consumer-based applications like Flickr, Vimeo, Instagram, and YouTube. The Socialcast integration is available for all HootSuite users signed up for editions of HootSuite Free, HootSuite Pro, beginning at $9.99 a month; and HootSuite Enterprise, beginning at $999.99 a month.
