Marketing software provider Total Communicator Solutions today unveiled its Mobile Marketing Communication platform. The cloud-based platform lets marketers deliver targeted offers and other messages to customers who download their company's mobile app, based on data culled from a CRM system. As more companies invest in mobile advertising—mobile ad spending is expected to increase from last year's $8.4 billion to $37 billion by 2016, according to eMarketer—vendors are racing to deliver solutions that let users provide relevant ads. Founded in 2012, Total Communicator Solutions has thrown its hat into the ring with its new platform. The Mobile Marketing Communications platform includes a dashboard from which users can create marketing campaigns as well as automatically deliver push notifications through the app. The notifications can be tailored according to various parameters, such as location, proximity to a geo-target, opt-in data, past behavior, preferences, and time and date.
Connecting marketing campaigns to a CRM system allows marketers to advance from "context awareness" to "contextual intelligence," maintained TCS founder and CEO Erik Bjontegard in a statement. "The CRM system serves as the central nervous system," Bjontegard explained. "The app can be used to gather information such as activity, location, and more, the [Marketing Communication platform] then can deliver content that is relevant to the app user's context and behavior." Other technologies can be integrated with the mobile application as well, including augmented reality, image recognition, and peer-to-peer communication.
