Mergers & Acquisitions
Divine, a provider of extended enterprise solutions, is on a buying spree, unveiling deals for Open Market and eshare communications. Both acquisitions are structured as stock-for-stock transactions. Following the close of the Open Market and eshare acquisitions, Divine will have approximately 277 million shares of common stock outstanding.
MessageMedia, which provides e-mail-based CRM and direct-marketing services, and DoubleClick have revised their merger agreement. Under the new terms, DoubleClick will issue one million common shares and, under certain conditions, make available to MessageMedia up to $1.5 million of bridge financing.
Marex, a software products and technology services company, has successfully completed the acquisition of Software Support Team, which develops management information solution software for retailers, distributors and dealers. Marex also expects to increase the capabilities of Software Support Team's current offerings by augmenting it with the Marex product line.

Chris Wagner has been named president and CEO of Xchange and will additionally serve on the board of directors. A 20-year software veteran, Wagner was most recently president and CEO of Metiom, a portfolio company of Forstmann Little & Company and leading e-commerce infrastructure provider. Xchange also has appointed Michael J. Collins as the its new chief marketing officer and senior vice president. Collins will be responsible for the strategic direction and execution of all global marketing activities and will report directly to the company's president and CEO. Collins brings more than 15 years experience to the company. His last position was as senior vice president of Global Marketing at Metiom. Prior to Metiom, Collins led corporate marketing at $250-million enterprise software provider SAGA Software.
William Butler has joined MarketSoft as senior vice president of worldwide sales. Butler has brought his 18-year sales record to the company. He will be responsible for growing United states and international demand for MarketSoft's marketing-process automation technology. Butler came to MarketSoft from Documentum, where he spent eight years selling document- and content-management solutions.
ViaFone, a provider of mobile enterprise applications software has appointed Russell McMeekin as CEO. McMeekin joins ViaFone from Honeywell, where he served as president of e-business, responsible for prioritizing and advising the company's officers on e-business strategies and overseeing all of the corporation's e-ventures.
Partnerships & Alliances
Avanade and Bellevue, Wash.-based Onyx Software have formed an alliance to deliver Onyx's CRM solutions on the Microsoft .Net Enterprise Server. Avanade and Onyx will offer end-to-end CRM solutions, which provide the scalability and reliability that their customers demand. Together the two companies intend to assist customers in multinational, multilanguage CRM system rollouts; enable wireless access to Onyx CRM functionality for mobile workforces; and deliver support for the Microsoft Windows XP Smart Tag initiative.
Responsys, a provider of interactive marketing solutions, and rich-media companies Beema, Dynamics Direct, Radical Communications, Talkway Communications and Viewpoint have formed alliances. The partnerships will enhance Responsys customers' marketing campaigns. These types of rich-media-enhanced outline interactive-marketing campaigns are available to companies currently utilizing Responsys Interact. Each of the rich-media partners offers capabilities such as animated e-mail, streaming video and logo treatments.
IXOS Software and TeaLeaf Technology announced an integrated solution that enables e-businesses to securely archive audible records of online transactions. The IXOS and TeaLeaf solution addresses the growth in online transactions and e-businesses' subsequent need for a cost-effective, accurate and secure way to archive online-transaction records for replay and auditing. As SAP Development Partners, IXOS and TeaLeaf provide products that feature standard integration with SAP solutions.
Vividence, a provider of customer-experience management products and AKQA have formed a partnership to offer AKQA's customers a way to assess their users online experiences. The alliance will focus on co-marketing to Fortune 1000 clients and delivering joint solution offerings. Vividence offers the XMS suite, which enables businesses to capture and understand the experience of customers on the Web. AKQA plans to jointly market Vividence's CEM products to prospective and current clients.
MarketSoft, a provider of marketing automation solutions, partnered with Allstate Insurance, the nation's largest publicly held personal lines insurer. Allstate has selected DemandMore.Leads, MarketSoft's lead-management solution, to help control revenue creation. Allstate will leverage the solution to help drive sales leads from capture to closure by delivering timely and relevant leads to Allstate's sales agents.
Solution 6 Group, an innovator of software solutions for the global professional-services industry, and Interface Software, a provider of relationship intelligence solutions for professional services, have formed a partnership that includes a worldwide reseller agreement, allowing Solution 6 to sell InterAction to new and existing CMS OPEN customers. CMS OPEN is a Solution 6 Group scalable multitier time/billing and practice-management system. As part of the partnership, Solution 6 and Interface Software will work on enhancing the current system integration between the two solutions, enabling operation in one functional environment.
FOXTEL, an Australian pay television services provider that serves more than 750,000 homes, selected Xchange's CRM solution to increase new subscribers and reduce the number of customers who churn, to help it achieve its growth targets. Xchange's solution allows FOXTEL to extract meaningful data on customer preferences and apply that information to develop highly personalized and targeted communication strategies.
Salesforce.com, an online CRM solutions provider, announced an upgraded version of its Web-based CRM application. New features such as multicurrency support are in place to help global companies manage a unified CRM solution across international operations.
stayinFront, a provider of enterprisewide CRM applications, decision-support tools and e-business systems, announced the opening of its Singapore office. John Connell has been appointed general manager for the office, which will be completed by professional service, sales and support teams.
