- The Northern Trust Company, a Chicago-based financial-services company, has chosen SalesVision's Jsales to facilitate its development of CRM databases that will be used by 5,000 Northern Trust employees. The databases will provide in-depth information on client relationships and highlight cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts. Jsales will integrate with N-Compass, a front-end application developed by Northern that is the bank's central repository of information on prospects and clients.
- ClubComputer, a self-described "Costco for computers," has chosen the Selectica Ace product suite to power a key part of its online computer store, www.ClubComputer.com. Using the software, ClubComputer customers will build their products to order through an interactive advisor that helps them choose features.
- German pharmaceutical provider Schwarz Pharma has chosen Pennsylvania-based CorNet International to automate its sales force. Under an agreement between the two companies, Schwarz Pharma will use CorNet solutions to automate its 350-member sales team throughout the U.S. market.
- Golf Magazine will license ImaginOn's sellONstream video e-commerce technology to develop specially-themed CD-ROM promotions for its readers. The CD-ROMs will contain television-quality video footage of leading golf destinations, resorts and schools, with each video linked to an advertiser's Web site. The licensing by Golf Magazine marks the first use of sellONstream in the publishing field.
- GE Investments, a division of General Electric Corporation which manages more than $70 billion in funds, has selected Connected Network Backup (CNB) to protect the laptops and PCs used by traders, analysts and brokers worldwide. CNB, a real-time repair and recovery solution from San Diego-based Connected Corporation, keeps desktop and remote systems automatically protected against disruptions of knowledge flow that result from configuration problems.
- Ericsson, Inc., the Swedish multinational telecommunications technology company, has chosen Primus' SolutionSeries software to provide technical support for its GSM products and services. Ericsson support professionals at six locations through North and South America will use Primus' SolutionBuilder and SolutionExplorer software to access and expand a centralized knowledge base of technical solutions. Beginning in the second quarter of 1999, Ericsson also plans to use Primus' SolutionPublisher software to make the same GSM knowledge base available for self service via the Internet.
- Beall Corporation, a Portland, Ore.-based manufacturer of truck trailers, has chosen the "2order" interactive selling system from BT Squared Technologies to enhance its selling system. Once implemented, the 2order solution will automate Beall's sales, quotation and order management for sales and distribution channels on a LAN, laptop or via the Internet.
- Humana, one of the nation's largest managed healthcare organizations, has implemented IMA's Edge CRM solution to automate sales activities on an enterprise-wide basis. Humana operates five call centers in four states-Kentucky, Florida, Texas and Wisconsin-that are linked into a single logical customer contact center supporting Humana's outbound and inbound telesales efforts for MediGap insurance.
