ChannelWave Solutions announced an updated version of its flagship software for managing partners and indirect channels. The capabilities of the latest release, ChannelWave 6, go beyond the partner relationship management features of the previous versions and add functionality focused on selling and marketing more effectively, according to ChannelWave CEO Chris Heidelberger. In addition, he claims that the company is delivering the software faster and less expensively than most enterprise CRM players, thus helping to lower the total cost of ownership. Heidelberger says ChannelWave 6 is up and running within 90 days at most companies. Version 6 expands on and leverages the Java architecture implemented in the previous version, which was released last fall. ChannelWave 5 was built on Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) , with an emphasis on multitiered distribution, content management, workflow, and configurability. ChannelWave 6 adds more tools for customization, including more configurable graphical user interface tools to help users personalize their portals and to help them customize customer profiling. "We want to put the tools in the hands of the people using the system, so they don't need a mountain of consultants," Heidelberger says. ChannelWave 6 also has ramped up sales force automation functions, including forecasting, order and activity tracking, and call logs; a 360-degree view of account activity; and support for disconnected mobile users. Version 6 also has increased marketing automation capabilities, including campaign management extensions, dynamic responses to customer requests, and targeting based on activity history. www.channelwave.com
