Veeva Integrates CRM System with Concur

Veeva Systems, a cloud-based business solutions company serving the life sciences industry, has integrated its Veeva CRM system with the cloud-based expense and travel management Concur Connect Platform.

According to Barry Padgett, executive vice president of Concur, the integration cuts down on double-entry in the Veeva CRM and Concur system, eliminating a number of administrative steps now carried out by pharmaceutical sales reps.

"The integration [of the Concur application] is a great way to leverage the strengths of both systems to enhance sales force effectiveness and operational efficiency," said Brian Longo, senior director of product management for Veeva Systems, in a statement. Through the partnership, reps may now manage travel information, bookings, and expenses in Veeva CRM, with a seamless transfer of actions right into Concur.

To further enhance reps' multichannel selling capabilities, Veeva Systems has also integrated its CRM system with Group DCA's digital detailing platform. The eDetailing Solution hosts a bank of 200,000 physicians that have opted in to receive "eDetails" pitches, with Group DCA reporting an average physician view time of seven minutes. The company said 100,000 eDetails were delivered last year through the Group DCA platform.

An integrated solution such as this one comes in handy "particularly when and where a sales call is impossible or impractical," said Ron Scalici, chief innovations officer for Group DCA, in a statement, ensuring the field rep access to multiple engagement channels. Veeva Systems said 600 PDI field sales reps have gone live thus far with the Veeva CRM/Group DCA solution; users can access marketing activity through the cross-channel platform.

Group DCA operates now under parent company PDI Inc., a provider of integrated promotional outsource services to health care companies, after it was acquired in late 2010 for an undisclosed amount.
